FinOps | Assessing IT investments
| More and more investments are wholly or partly related to IT. In fact, investments that do not affect IT in any way are quite exceptional these days. For example, in order to be able to assess whether an IT investment contributes to the reliability of the IT systems, you need a specific approach or way of working in addition to a certain IT knowledge and a financial model. |

| This approach helps to grow in maturity of your investment process and also supports the analysis of deviations after the investments have been made. Think, for example, of the end of a project, the higher costs and the delivery of more or less secure systems than agreed. |

Objective

We will start with the following learning objectives:
- Learning to make IT investment decisions, business cases and forecasts in a fast and reliable manner with a short-cycle approach
- Learning to test completeness by always looking at the problem, technical solution, (strategic) desirability and financial feasibility
- Gain insight into the importance of documenting facts, assumptions and uncertainties with an IT cost model
